Moroccan vibrancy, French elegance

ISLI began in Casablanca with Karima, who grew up between two cultures and never accepted having to choose between them. She wanted accessories that could carry the saturated colour of Morocco and the restraint of French design at the same time. That tension, held carefully, is still the brief behind every piece we release.

Tarik is a master leatherworker, and teaches the craft at the Maison de l'Artisanat in Casablanca. He cuts, skives and stitches every bag by hand. What he brings to ISLI is not only technique but an inherited body of knowledge, passed down through generations of Moroccan artisans, and present in every seam.

We work almost entirely with upcycled leather. Through our partnership with La Réserve des Arts, we source premium offcuts that would otherwise be thrown away, and choose them one by one. Because every hide arrives with its own grain and its own colour, no two pieces ever come out quite the same.

Nothing here is mass produced. Each design is prototyped on the bench, adjusted, then made in very small runs. Karima and Tarik work through the shapes together until a piece feels right, which is why our collections stay small, and why some of them never come back.

The commitment does not stop at the leather. Our packaging is made from leftover materials too, because a bag designed to reduce waste should not arrive wrapped in more of it. Small choices, repeated with discipline, are what make the practice real.
