Frequently asked questions
Everything we get asked most often, about how the pieces are made, how they travel, and how to look after them.
What does ISLI mean?
ISLI means love in Berber. The name was chosen by our founder, Karima, as a way of holding together the two places that shaped her: the colour and warmth of Morocco, and the quiet elegance of France.
Where are your pieces made?
Everything is drawn in Paris, then cut and assembled by hand in Casablanca. The bags are stitched by Tarik, a master leatherworker who teaches the craft at the Maison de l Artisanat in Casablanca.
What leather do you use?
Almost entirely upcycled leather. Through our partnership with La Reserve des Arts we source premium offcuts that would otherwise be thrown away, and choose them one by one.
Will my piece look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical. Because every hide arrives with its own grain and its own colour, no two pieces ever come out quite the same. That variation is part of the result, not a defect.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Shipping is on us: every order ships free, anywhere in the world, with no minimum spend.
How long will my order take?
Orders are dispatched within 72 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays. Once dispatched, count 2 to 3 business days in metropolitan France, 4 to 5 days in Europe, and 5 to 6 days for the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. An express option with Chronopost 13H is available in metropolitan France, for delivery before 1 pm the next business day.
Is my parcel tracked?
Every parcel is sent with tracking and requires a signature on delivery, so your piece is traceable from our atelier to your door. You receive your tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
Can I return an order?
You have 14 days from the date of receipt. The item must be unworn, undamaged and still with its original label. Send your request to contact@islistudio.com. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
How does buy two earrings, get the third free work?
Add three pairs of earrings to your bag and the least expensive of the three is free. The easiest way to use it is the Build your set page, which shows the offer as you choose.
How should I look after my pieces?
Keep leather away from prolonged damp and direct sunlight. Put earrings on last, after perfume and hairspray, and keep them dry. If a piece ever needs attention, write to us at contact@islistudio.com.
How do I reach you?
Write to contact@islistudio.com. We are a small studio, so you will get a real person rather than a template.
Still unsure? Write to contact@islistudio.com and we will answer.
